Indian sambo wrestler Rani Sunita won a bronze medal for her country at the Asian Sambo Championship-2016 in Ashgabat in the weight category of 68 kg. Thus, the national team of the country today has put in its bank 2 bronze medals. The day before, another Indian Kaur Baldzhet also came third. She performed in the weight category of 60 kg among women. The President of the Indian Sambo Federation Dr. Bhagirath Lal Vasishta on the eve of the championship had said that one bronze medal in this tournament would be a great success of his team. As a result, the Indians exceeded the plan. FIAS’s site congratulated them on this success and also learned about the way to the medal of Sunita Rani. Read about it below.

"I really liked Turkmenistan, it’s a very friendly country. And in this tournament everything for the athletes was at the highest level: accommodation, food, arena, volunteers. I am very grateful to the organizers of this festival of Asian sambo. What happened was that we enjoyed not only the fight, but in the whole of the country, local residents, the atmosphere that prevailed in those days in Turkmenistan.

I won a bronze medal, and today I am very, very happy. If we talk about the most difficult fight, I would name the bout for this medal with a sambo player from Uzbekistan. She was very, very strong, but I managed to win a medal. Today I am very happy".
