22 countries will take part in the World Schools Sambo Championships

The World Schools Sambo Championship will take place for the first time in history in the Russian city of Orel. Representatives of 22 states will take part in the competitions which will be held on August 23-24, the press service of the Government of the Orel region reported.

Actual list of countries as of June 13: Belarus, Cameroon, China, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Zambia. Japan and Mongolia also reported about their preliminary applications.

Arrival of honorary guests and the grand opening of the Championships are scheduled for August 23. Competitions will be held among boys and girls in 10 weight categories.
