The first national SAMBO Championships were held in Bangladesh

The first national SAMBO Championships took place on November 23, in the Gymnasium of the National Sports Council of Bangladesh. The competitions were held in 8 weight categories among men and in 3 weight categories among women. 132 sportsmen, representing various regions of Bangladesh, took part in the tournament.
According to President of Bangladesh SAMBO Federation Humayun Kabir, the national championships were a great success. At the moment the management of the Federation is planning the next national championships. In addition, Humayun Kabir counts on the capital of the country the city of Dhaka to become the host of an international SAMBO tournament in the future.
